How are blogs used on the FDC site?
Some of you may have heard a buzz word around the internet in the last few years - blogging
What is it?
Blogging is a mix of the words “Web” and “Logging” - basically, it’s a constant stream of entries, detailing something (logging) on the internet (web). Mash it together, and you get a “blog”.
Blogs are very common amongst those vain people who like to post their lives on the internet. It’s common to find people posting the most inane details of their lives, multiple times a day, to their blog. Tools have made blogging very quick and easy, and you can even send entries to your blog from your phone these days. Blogging is interactive - your friends (or strangers) can comment on each entry you blog.
Fortunately, websites like this can benefit from blogs, in sometimes quite powerful ways. Expression Engine has a blogging module, which we use in several area’s of the website. It allows us to post news, articles and entries like this, and welcome you to comment on them, give us feedback, ask questions, leave reviews and generally interact with the site.
News
The very front page of the Femdom Circle is a blog - Lady Lisa, Mistress Lisa and I can post news entries, FDC activity and other information. You will always find the latest news from the Circle right there, at the top of the front page. This entire section is public, so we do not allow comments on the entries.
Webslaves blog
This entire corner of mine is a blog - new entries appear at the top. You are welcome to comment on any entry I post here, and in fact, I welcome it - when you have questions about any of the topics I write about, I would love to see comments being left, I promise to respond to every one ![]()
Articles and Reviews
This is an exciting area of the website - the entire thing is a blog. Entries take the form of an Article (informational, scene related) or a Review (an event, party, toy), and of course, you can leave comments on each article or review. What is really cool though, you can post your own article or review - the content comes from you, the Circle members!
Library
The Library is, believe it or not, a blog. You are able to leave comments on each book in the form of a review or editorial for each book. You can request books directly from club slave ray, the Librarian.
So, thats how blogs can be used for legitimate purposes, and not just to share the minute details of your life or day ![]()
